A bill being considered in the state legislature would allow homeschool students to compete in state-sanctioned sporting events.
Currently, KHSAA requires student-athletes to be enrolled in courses as a full-time student at the school they are competing with. House Bill 421 looks to change that.
Several states across the country, including Tennessee and Ohio, allow homeschool students to compete in sports for public schools.
The bill has 8 cosponsors in the Kentucky House. It is currently in the Primary and Secondary Education Committee.
