Authorities in Wayne and Pulaski counties searching for burglary suspect

Authorities in Wayne and Pulaski counties are searching for a burglary suspect who broke into a gas station and attempted break-ins at other locations.

Authorities say a man broke into the Cumberland Green Valero Convenience Store on East Highway 90 sometime around 4 a.m. Saturday. The man reportedly broke the glass in the front door and attempted to steal an ATM but was unsuccessful.

Authorities say they believe the same man drove to Poppa’s Convenient Store in Bronston and broke into that store as well, once again unsuccessfully attempting to remove an ATM machine.

Pulaski County authorities say the same suspect drove to the Somerset Mall and entered by breaking a glass door in the Belk store.

Authorities believe it is possible more than one person could be involved.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office or Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
