Russell County Schools and the community as a whole are mourning the death of a Russell County High School student yesterday.
Russell County Schools announced yesterday that 15-year-old Brylie Northcutt, a freshman at Russell County High School, passed away yesterday evening due to a medical emergency that occurred during a softball practice.
The Russell County Coroner’s Office said an autopsy will be performed to determine exact cause of death.
Russell County Schools Superintendent Michael Ford said the school district is implementing its crisis response protocol and additional counselors and therapists will be available at RCHS beginning today.
