Lake Cumberland State Resort Park will soon be receiving some major upgrades.
The Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet announced the state park will receive $7.4 million in upgrades to enhance the visitor experience and attract new travelers.
Plans include upgrades to finishes and furniture across the main lodge and guest rooms. The project will also include upgrades to finishes, lighting, audio and video systems in the conference center, as well as structural repairs at the park.
Due to these renovations, multiple areas of the park will be closed beginning in January. Lodge rooms, the conference center, the main dining room, the bar and indoor pool will be temporarily closed. Officials say the project is expected to be finished by late 2026.
Guests will still have access to cabin and campground rentals, hiking trails, a disc golf course, an outdoor pool and a launching ramp at the state dock during renovations.
