The Laker Football team went on the road and defeated the LaRue County Hawks Friday night by a score of 35-20.
Senior Kinnett Wills came up big for Russell County, catching a pair of touchdown passes and recording an interception on defense. Overall, Wills recorded 4 catches for 67 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Tanner Stringer recorded a pair of rushing touchdowns for the Lakers as well, and Jameson Webb recovered a fumble in the end zone for another Laker touchdown.
Stringer completed 8 of 13 passes for 130 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and ran for 165 yards on 16 carries.
Christian Williams ran for 47 yards and Alex Norton ran for 21.
Jordan Beck led the Laker defense with 20 total tackles in the game. Norton finished with 12 and Ryne Green finished with 11
The Lakers return home this Friday night as they host Campbellsville in the home opener. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
