Lady Lakers defeat Casey County, Lakers fall to Marion

The Russell County High School Soccer teams were in action last night.

The Lady Lakers hosted Casey County, coming away with an 8-0 win.

Addison Coffey led the Lady Lakers with 4 goals scored. Adriana Thomas scored a pair of goals, and Marissa Hatchett and Jasmine Bennett each added a goal as well.

Madison Weisbrodt assisted on 3 goals, and Hatchett and Carly Shearer each had an assist as well. Liz Evans had one save in the shutout win.

The JV Lady Lakers picked up a 2-1 win. Mercedez Sanchez and Ava McFarland each scored a goal. Andrea Hernandez had 9 saves in the win.

The Laker Soccer team went on the road to Taylor County, falling to Marion County in the Kentucky 2A tournament.

The Knights defeated the Lakers by a score of 4-0.

Xavion Russell recorded 12 saves in the match for the Lakers.

The Lakers are scheduled to host Campbellsville tomorrow. The Lady Lakers go on the road for a district matchup with Clinton County tomorrow.
