For the second year in a row, the Russell County Hospital Board is lowering its property tax rate.
At yesterday’s meeting, the board approved a recommendation from hospital CEO Scott Thompson to lower the hospital’s tax rate on real property, from 5.6 cents per $100 of assessed value to 4.6 cents.
Thompson spoke to WJRS News about why he recommended lowering the tax rate.
The lower tax rate was unanimously approved by the hospital’s board of directors.
