Sheriff’s office makes pair of drug-related weekend arrests

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office made a pair of drug-related arrests over the weekend.

23-year-old Bryon Newberry of Russell Springs was arrested just before midnight Friday night and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and careless driving.

34-year-old Preston Haney of Russell Springs was arrested at around 1:30 Saturday morning and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of synthetic drugs – 2nd or more offense, possession of marijuana, and reckless driving.

Both were arrested by Deputy Stone Bolin with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
