RCHS student recognized at board meeting for performance at national competition

Russell County High School rising junior Tyson England was recognized by the Russell County Board of Education during its meeting earlier this week.

England was recognized by the board and Superintendent Michael Ford for his top 10 finish in the recent Technology Students Association national competition.

England finished top 10 nationally in Computer-Aided Design Engineering.

The contest requires students to use complex computer graphic skills, tools, and processes to respond to a design challenge. In that challenge, they develop three-dimensional representations of engineering subjects, such as a machine part, tool, device, or manufactured product.

England spoke to the board and those in attendance about his experience in the contest and was presented a certificate from the superintendent and the board of education.
