Russell County Hospital broke ground on its new expansion/renovation project this week.
One of the special guests at this week’s groundbreaking ceremony was Rocky Adkins, former state representative and now senior advisor to the Governor.
Adkins, who is from Elliott County in eastern Kentucky, said he understands how important rural hospitals are and said the groundbreaking for the project is reason for the community to celebrate.
The $30 million project will nearly double the size of the hospital and create a new emergency room, new registration area, new radiology department, and many other key improvements.
