Russell County Sheriff’s Deputy Devin Blakey and Jamestown Police Officer Logan Burton graduated from the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training’s basic training academy in Richmond today.
Blakey and Burton were two of 38 law enforcement officers from across the state to graduate as part of Class 559.
Officers in the academy undergo training for patrol procedures, vehicle operations, criminal law, traffic and DUI, firearms, criminal investigations and much more.
Members of the graduating class received more than 800 hours of recruit-level instruction over 20 weeks.
