RCMS Baseball, Softball teams pick up wins

The Russell County Middle School Baseball and Softball teams picked up wins last night.

The Lakers defeated Mercer County 10-2 behind a big night from Raylan McAninch, who finished the night with a team-high 3 hits and 2 runs batted in.

Keaton Garner and Aaron McGowan each finished with 2 hits and an RBI.

Parker Brumley picked up the win pitching, giving up 2 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings and striking out 3.

The middle school Lady Laker Softball team picked up a win in a shootout over Whitley County by a score of 13-12.

Kinsley Wilson and Lillian Davis each finished with a team-high 4 hits. Wilson drove in 3 runs and Davis and Kerigan Aaron each drove in 2.

The Lady Lakers are back at home tonight for a matchup with LaRue County getting underway at 5:30.
