Russell County Jailer Bobby Dunbar said new laws changing the level of felony offenses could impact certain jail programs that have shown to be beneficial to the community.
Dunbar said certain Class D felons, the lowest felony level, are eligible for work programs such as litter pickup. He said some Class D offenses will be upgraded to Class C or B, limiting the number of people eligible for work programs and classes.
