Russell County defeats Clinton County in last district games of the season

The Russell County Lakers and Lady Lakers were victorious over Clinton County in the last district games of the regular season last night.

The Lady Lakers won the opening game, defeating Clinton County 40-38 in overtime as Addison Hart connected on a three in the left corner with just a few seconds remaining to pick up the win.

Aniyah Coffey led Russell County with 13 points, followed by Addy Abrell with 7, and Karley Luttrell with 6 points.

In the nightcap, the Lakers picked up a big win over the Bulldogs by a score of 58-48, handing the Bulldogs just their second loss of the season.

The Lakers were led by Mayes Gosser with 16 points, followed by Dylan Stanelle with 13, and Logan Walters with 12.

The Lakers and Lady Lakers are back in action at Adair County tonight. The girls will tip off at 5:30 with the boys game to follow. We’ll have all the action live from Adair County High School right here on Laker Country 104.9.
