Jamestown man arrested for illegally possessing weapon

A Jamestown man was arrested yesterday evening.

61-year-old Dennis M. McWhorter was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

McWhorter was arrested by Officer Savannah Harlan with the Jamestown Police Department and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center just after 5:15 yesterday.
