Those who have not yet paid their county property taxes now have a larger late fee.
The late fee for property taxes for 2024 that have not yet been paid will include a 10 percent penalty along with an additional 10 percent sheriff’s fee.
This will be in effect until the close of business on April 15, when tax bills are transferred from the sheriff’s office to the county clerk’s office.
Bills can be paid in-person, over the phone, or by mail with the Russell County Sheriff’s Office.
