Carl “Jim” J. Wilson, 75 of Preston, passed away suddenly at Easton hospital on February 8, 2025.
Carl was born April 15, 1949, in Russell Springs Kentucky to Carson and Norma Jean Wilson. After graduating from Russell County High School in 1968 he was drafted to the United States Air Force. While stationed at Dover Air Force Base, he met the love of his life, Leslie Eareckson and they married on July 18, 1970. Carl was sent to Taiwan to be an airplane mechanic and Leslie soon followed. While there, they had their daughter, Christina. He was then assigned to the Philippines with Leslie and Christina by his side. Their son, Erick, was born there.
While stationed overseas, Carl became an avid dirt bike enthusiast. He traveled all over to race and could spend hours reminiscing about the different tracks and all his adventures. After his time in the military, the family settled in Caroline County in 1977. He had several jobs including auto mechanic, truck driver, which he loved, and various other jobs. He spent a lot of time in his garage working on motorcycles. He had many himself over the years, but getting his first Harley Davidson was very special to him. His riding buddies, Steve, Byron and Rocky were more than his friends, they were his brothers.
As a man of faith, he was a member at Grace Fellowship in Easton. He would give anyone the shirt off his back, stop for stranded motorists and lend a hand to anyone in need. He was such a compassionate person and genuinely cared for his fellow man. He loved all kinds of music and he loved to dance.
