Columbia Police officers were called out at around 10 p.m. Saturday to a reported assault at the Adair County Jail.
Police say 30-year-old Kanissa’ai Thompson was charged with assault 2nd degree and strangulation 1st degree; both felonies.
The victim, whose name was not released by police, was taken to TJ Samson Columbia. They were treated for injuries and then transported back to the jail.
