Lady Lakers fall to Wayne County on three-pointer in final seconds; Lakers go to Campbellsville tonight

The Lady Lakers lost a close one on the road at Wayne County last night, with the Lady Cardinals hitting a three-pointer with 1.3 seconds left on the clock to pick up a 53-50 victory.

The Lady Lakers led 22-16 at halftime, but the Lady Cardinals battled back to tie it at 37 going into the final frame before winning it with the late basket.

Three Lady Lakers were in double figures in the scoring column, led by Rachel Bolin with 14 points and Aniyah Coffey and Addison Hart with 10 points each. Karley Luttrell added 8 points for Russell County and Addy Abrell scored 6.

The Lady Lakers will look to get back in the win column on Friday when they host Southwestern as part of a doubleheader at Laker Gym.

The Laker Basketball team will be in action tonight, going on the road to Campbellsville.

The Lakers enter tonight’s matchup at 9-6 on the season, while the Eagles enter at 1-9.

Tip-off for tonight’s game between Russell County and Campbellsville is set for 7.
