The Russell County Laker and Lady Laker basketball teams were defeated last night in the first district doubleheader of the season.
The Lady Lakers fell to the Lady Panthers in the first game of the season by a score of 45-36.
The Lakers fell to the Panthers in the nightcap by a score of 80-77.
The Lady Lakers go on the road Thursday to take on Boyle County.
The Lakers will also be on the road Thursday, taking on Casey County.
The teams will be back at home next Tuesday for a doubleheader against Metcalfe County.
