$1M Bond Set for Tennessee Man in Deadly DUI Crash Involving Child

A Tennessee man accused of driving while under the influence and causing a wreck last Saturday in Columbia—resulting in the death of a 7 year old Adair County child—remains incarcerated under a $1 million cash bond.

Joel Hammack, age 46, of Crossville, Tennessee, appeared before Adair District Judge Michael Loy earlier this week on charges of Vehicular Homicide, DUI 4th or subsequent offense, Assault First Degree, and three counts of Assault Second Degree. Loy set Hammack’s bond at $1 million cash. Hammack is expected to appear back in Adair District Court next Monday for a preliminary hearing.
