The Laker Band had a strong showing at the state marching band contest Saturday.
The Laker Band finished third overall in Class 3A, with Murray taking home the 3A championship and Bourbon County finishing second.
Russell County finished ahead of Hopkinsville, Adair County, and Taylor County.
The Lakers competed in semifinals earlier in the day at Elizabethtown High School, where they finished 5th overall to advance to state finals in Louisville Saturday night.
