A Clinton County man was taken into custody after police say he fired multiple shots inside a home.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office and Albany Police Department were called out just before 5:00 this morning to reports that a man, identified as 55-year-old Mickey Shelton, had entered a home with two firearms and began shooting, eventually barricading himself inside the residence.
When police arrived, they found multiple bullet holes on the outside of the residence, and when they cleared the trailer, there were multiple shell casings on the floor and bullet holes in the walls.
Shelton was not at the residence when police arrived, but was apprehended after his truck was stopped about eight miles from the residence. Shelton was arrested without incident. He was charged with burglary first degree, six counts of wanton endangerment first degree, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and criminal mischief – first degree.
