A Russell County man entered a guilty plea in court last week with charges stemming from a deadly wreck that occurred in 2019.
45-year-old Billy J. Wilson was facing multiple charges, including murder, stemming from a wreck on the Cumberland Parkway in May 2019 that claimed the life of 52-year-old Christopher McNane of Nashville. Wilson was intoxicated when the car he was operating on the parkway crossed the median and struck McNane’s vehicle, killing him.
Wilson pleaded guilty in court last week to a lesser charge of vehicular manslaughter, along with four counts of wanton endangerment.
The Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office is recommending a 20-year-sentence. Wilson will appear in court for sentencing next month. He remains lodged in the Russell County Detention Center.
