LCDHD Restaurant and Retail Inspections

The following is the latest retail and restaurant inspections report from the Lake Cumberland District Health Department.

These inspections occurred in April and May.

Russell County Senior Citizen Center – 100 percent

Lake Cumberland Area Development – 100 percent

Russell Springs Elementary – 100 percent

Russell County High School – 100 percent

Russell County Middle School – 100 percent

Wheelhouse at State Dock – 88 percent – personal drinks in food prep area, flies in food prep area, outer openings not sealed to prevent insect entry, utensils not properly stored, fly strips above food prep area, no soap at handwash sink, no cold water at handwash sink, floor at entry door in poor repair, pizza boxes stored on floor, handwash signs required at all sinks, thermometers not present in refrigeration units, wiping cloths not stored in sanitizing solutions, ceiling in poor repair, grease build-up on vent hood, floor in hard to reach areas unclean.

Another Tots Landing – 98 percent – thermometers needed in freezers and test strips needed.

Little Wonders – 100 percent

Tots Landing – 100 percent

Eli Country Store – 95 percent – food in fridge not date marked, no thermometers in fridge, freezers, or coolers; wet wiping cloth left on counter, no test strips available. 100 percent on follow-up. Retail inspection – 100 percent

Eli Country Cafe – 96 percent – thermometers needed in every cooler and freezer; walls, hood vents, shelves, and surfaces should be smooth and easily cleanable; walls in poor repair and light shields needed.

Wall’s Lake Stop – 100 percent

Dollar General on Highway 910 – 99 percent – uncooked meat stored above cooked meat

Taco Bell – 100 percent

McDonald’s – 100 percent

Mammy Frogs – 100 percent

AV Food – 99 percent on food service – coffee stir sticks not properly disposed. 100 percent on retail.

Huddle House – 95 percent – food in walk-in not date marked, thermometers not provided in drawer cooler, no hair restraints and make sure hand washing occurs regularly and on return from breaks; leak in ceiling and standing water in floors, handles and surfaces need wiped regularly with sanitizing solution. 100 percent on follow-up.

Pizza Hut – 100 percent

Wendy’s – 99 percent – ceilings, floors and walls not smooth and easily cleanable and in poor repair, mold-like substance on vents.

Jamestown Elementary – 100 percent
