Wreck Saturday Followed by Shooting, Two Injured, One Arrested

A two-vehicle wreck on Saturday morning led to one person being arrested and another person being shot.

Shortly before 8 o’clock Saturday morning, Kentucky State Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle wreck on highway 704 in Adair County.   The investigation revealed that 50-year old Gregory Willis and Mark Hatcher, age 46, both of Columbia, were involved in the collision.  Immediately after the collision, Willis reportedly armed himself with a firearm and discharged it, striking Hatcher.  A passenger in the Hatcher vehicle, 23 year old William Feese was also injured during the vehicle collision.  Both  Hatcher and Feese were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

Willis fled from the scene prior to law enforcement’s arrival but was later arrested on a warrant charging him with Assault first degree.  Willis was lodged in the Adair County Detention Center.
