Work on front of courthouse nearing completion

The renovation project at the front of the Russell County Courthouse is nearing completion.

Slattery Concrete from Columbia has been working on the project for the last month, which was approved by the fiscal court several months ago.

WJRS News caught up with Judge Executive Randy Marcum yesterday to get an update on how the project is progressing and the work being done. Marcum said the project will eliminate trip hazards, improving some areas that were dangerous, and make the building more accessible.

Weather has been a significant factor in the project, causing delays in completion. Marcum gave WJRS News an estimate of when the project might be completed.

In total, the project will cost a little over $100,000.
