Lady Laker Softball picks up district win in regular season finale

The Lady Laker Softball team wrapped up the regular season with a district win over Monroe County on Saturday.

The Lady Lakers came out on top, winning 15-3 in 5 innings.

Camdin Cooper led Russell County with 3 hits, driving in a team-high 5 runs. Rylen McGowan also finished with a 3-hit day, driving in a pair of runs, and Miley Rankins finished with 3 RBI on the day.

Addison Hart picked up the win in the pitcher’s circle, pitching 3 innings and giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and striking out 2.

Brylie Jo Hardwick entered in relief, pitching 2 innings, giving up no runs and 2 hits, while striking out 2.

The Lady Lakers sit at 19-13 on the season with a 5-3 mark in district play.
