Sheriff’s Office releases January activity report

The Russell County Sheriff’s Office has released its monthly activity report for the month of January.

Last month, the sheriff’s office responded to 289 calls for service, performed 22 arrests, and worked 20 traffic accidents including 4 with injuries.

The sheriff’s office performed 20 traffic stops, responded to 23 officer requests, 2 shots fired complaints, and 16 welfare checks.

Last month, the sheriff’s office served 39 court papers, made 103 prisoner transports, and drove more than 2,300 court security miles.

Sheriff Derek Polston also reported more than $800,000 in property taxes were collected in the month of January.
