Line of storms cause damage, knocked out power to 700+ throughout county

A line of storms that made its way through the county yesterday morning brought high winds that knocked down trees and caused power outages throughout the community.

South Kentucky RECC reported more than 700 power outages yesterday afternoon, ranging from North 127 down to Highway 92 in Jamestown, Highway 1058, and near Cave Springs Road.

Crews spent hours yesterday working to restore power to affected individuals.

There were also some reports of damage from the winds near Key Village and other areas around Russell County.
