Jamestown council approves 911 agreement

The Jamestown City Council approved the new interlocal 911 agreement at last week’s city council meeting.

The new agreement, which was approved by the council with a unanimous vote, is a five-year agreement in which both the City of Jamestown, the Ambulance Board, and the City of Russell Springs each contribute $35,000 annually to be used toward operating expenses of the 911 service.

The new agreement does contain a clause that states if expenses for 911 go up more than 20 percent during that five-year period, the contract can be renegotiated.
