The incident occurred Sunday afternoon at around 4 p.m. when deputies were called to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset to a report that a 21-year-old man had been stabbed on the side of U.S. 27 near Eubank.

According to reports, 21-year-old Andrew Stringer told law enforcement he was sitting on the side of the road when a man came up from behind his vehicle and stabbed him in the back.

It turns out that law enforcement in Lincoln County was investigating a stabbing that took place at a home in which an altercation took place and the homeowner stabbed the perpetrator in the back.
