Russell Countians donated nearly 600 units of blood at mobile drives last year

New data from the Kentucky Blood Center shows that Russell Countians donated nearly 600 units of blood at mobile blood drives last year.

According to the blood center, Russell Countians donated 579 units of blood at 22 mobile blood drives last year.

The blood center said there were 661 registered donors in 2023, with 89 people donating blood for the first time last year.

The data shows that on average, the blood center was able to receive about 26.3 units of blood per mobile drive in Russell County last year.

The next blood drive in Russell County will be Jan. 25 at the South Kentucky RECC Community Room.
