Clinton County School Board to Meet Tonight, Hiring of Superintendent Not on Agenda

The Clinton County Board of Education is scheduled to meet in special this evening, but it appears the board will not take action on the hiring of a new Superintendent.

The Clinton County School district has been operating under an interim Superintendent since July first of last year.

Last month, a Superintendent screening committee, which reportedly reviewed eight applicants for the job, submitted three names to the board of education for their consideration for the Superintendent position.

However, the school board did not meet prior to the end of the year.

The school board is scheduled to meet at 5 this afternoon.

However, the agenda for the special called meeting lists only a closed joint meeting with the Superintendent search committee.

The agenda for the special called meeting this evening does not list the hiring of a Superintendent, which can only be done in open meeting and only if listed on the agenda.
