Adair judge executive cancels fiscal court meeting over reported threat; sheriff says he’s not heard of any threat

In an odd turn of events in neighboring Adair County, Judge Executive Larry Russell Bryant has canceled the regular called meeting of the Adair Fiscal Court for tonight.

Bryant cited “some threats and safety issues” in an email sent out regarding the cancelation of the meeting.

According to the Adair County Community Voice, Adair County Sheriff Josh Brockman said he was not aware of any threats to the safety of the court.

The Adair Fiscal Court has been the subject of controversy for a while, with arguments breaking out during meetings between the judge executive and magistrates about multiple issues.

Bryant said the meeting will be rescheduled at a later date and said he is seeking guidance from the Attorney General’s Office and Department of Local Government.
