More details released regarding theft arrests last week

More details have been released about the arrest of two people involved in thefts in Russell and Adair counties.

According to Russell County Sheriff Derek Polston, the investigation into the thefts resulted in the arrest of Nathan Harden of Adair County on November 28 and Jonathan Atchley of Russell County last Thursday.

Polston told WJRS News a 2023 Honda ATV was recovered last Thursday after a land owner contacted Polston regarding an ATV near his property off Breeding Road and A. Jones Road.

The tip turned into an investigation led by Deputy Josh Phipps which resulted in Atchley being arrested on charges of theft by unlawful taking $1,000 or more; burglary first degree, theft of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, and other charges.

Harden faces charges of theft of a firearm, burglary first degree, and theft by unlawful taking $1,000 or more.

More arrests could be forthcoming and the investigation is still ongoing.
