The Russell Springs Police Department is warning residents of a scam that is targeting elderly residents in the community.
Several people have received letters in the mail recently that appear to be coming from the Russell Springs City Council soliciting donations to the police department.
Russell Springs Police Chief Bryan Shepard says these letters are a scam.
