Continuing our look at Russell County Schools, today we take a look at Jamestown Elementary.
On the Kentucky School Report Card, Jamestown Elementary School received a yellow rating, the third-best of the five color ratings.
Jamestown Elementary saw its reading and math indicator score drop from the previous year, receiving an orange rating, which is a step below yellow.
However, Jamestown Elementary received high marks on the science, social studies and writing indicator, with a significant increase from last year and receiving a green rating, the second-best rating.
Comparing with state averages, Jamestown Elementary exceeded state average in the percentage of students scoring proficient and distinguished in science and combined writing, while recording lower than state average percentages in reading, math and social studies.
