Jabez broadband project continuing to progress

The Duo Broadband Jabez project that aims to bring fiber to more than 500 households and businesses in the area is continuing to progress.

The end of the build-out phase is targeted for the spring, according to a release from Duo Broadband, but then a testing process begins to make sure there are no cut lines or construction issues.

The broadband company says that testing process can take 2-3 months.

From there, the company says they begin compiling a list of customers and begin connecting them to the high-speed internet.

In the release, Rep. Josh Branscum says the Jabez project is a product of the record investment in broadband and he expects the Kentucky Legislature to continue to be aggressive focusing on that unmet need.

Construction work on the fiber optic network in the Jabez community includes a mix of above and below ground cable. Initial construction of the main line is expected to be complete by Spring of 2024 with connections expected after several months of testing. Photo courtesy of Duo Broadband.
