Jamestown Elementary School teacher Donnie Wilkerson was named the Kentucky Elementary School Teacher of the Year yesterday.
Wilkerson was one of four semifinalists for the award, which was presented in a special ceremony at the state capitol.
Wilkerson also finished in the top 3 as a finalist for the Kentucky Teacher of the Year Award.
Wilkerson is a 5th grade social studies teacher at Jamestown Elementary and has taught there for 19 years.
