New data from the Kentucky Center for Statistics shows Russell County had an unemployment rate of 5 percent last month.
Russell County’s unemployment rate was in the middle when it comes to other counties in the Lake Cumberland area.
Cumberland County had the lowest unemployment rate in the area at 3.5 percent, which was also among the lowest in the state.
Green County was at 3.8 percent, Taylor at 4 percent, and Casey County at 4.5 percent.
Pulaski County was at 4.8 percent and Clinton County was at 4.9 percent.
Both Wayne and Adair County came in at 5.6 percent, and McCreary County had the highest rate in the area at 6.2 percent.
