A Casey County man was arrested earlier this week after reportedly beating another man with a broom handle.
According to the Casey County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred early Tuesday morning resulting in the arrest of 35-year-old Bryan Scott Thomas on a charge of second-degree assault.
According to reports, the victim, identified as Mark Roy, said Thomas came into his room at his residence on Highway 910 at around 2 a.m. and began beating him with a broom handle.
Roy suffered a deep gash above his right eye and was taken to the Casey County Hospital for treatment.
According to reports, drugs are believed to be a factor in the incident.
The investigation is ongoing by the Casey County Sheriff’s Office.
