The Jamestown City Council gave final approval to rate increases on water and sewer costs at last night’s council meeting.
The ordinance includes a 31.5 percent increase on water and a 50.67 percent increase on sewer.
Mayor Regena Hinton spoke to WJRS News and said while nobody ever wants a rate increase, it has been a while since rates were increased and rising costs on the city’s end with water and sewer made a rate increase necessary.
