An Adair County man was arrested in Tennessee and charged with crimes involving a minor.
According to Columbia Police, 26-year-old Jonathan Berryman was arrested in Grundy County, Tennessee yesterday morning. He’s charged with possessing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor between ages 12-18, use of a minor in a sexual performance, tampering with physical evidence and other felony charges.
According to Columbia Police, Berryman came under investigation in Columbia nearly a year-and-a-half ago when a school resource officer was notified of a 17-year-old female student engaging in a relationship with Berryman, who was 25 at the time.
After Berryman became aware of the investigation, he reportedly fled Adair County. He was located in Tennessee while officers were investigating an unrelated matter.
Columbia Police say Berryman will be extradited to Adair County at a later date.
