After much debate over the last several months, the Adair County Fiscal Court approved the initial step of implementing a payroll tax.
The tax would be three-quarters of one percent, with a second reading and final vote needed to make the tax official at an upcoming meeting.
Previously, Adair County did not have a payroll tax.
