RSPD Chief Pierce announces upcoming retirement

Russell Springs Police Chief Tim Pierce will soon be retiring.

The announcement came during last night’s Russell Springs City Council meeting.

Pierce has served as the city’s police chief since March 2021, and his retirement will be effective July 31.

Assistant Police Chief Bryan Shepherd will take over as interim chief for the city’s police force beginning May 20.

Mayor Eddie Thomas thanked Pierce for his service to the city and said he has served the community well.
