Rep. Branscum discusses opposition to recently passed sports betting bill

Last month, Gov. Andy Beshear signed Kentucky’s sports betting bill, HB 551, into law, making Kentucky the 37th state to legalize sports betting in the United States.

Beginning June 28th, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission has six months to formulate regulations and licensing processes.

The bill set the retail tax rate at 9.75 percent and the online sports betting tax rate at 14.25 percent on adjusted gross sports betting revenue.
