Jamestown City Council gives initial approval to weather radar site

The Jamestown City Council gave initial approval for a Louisville-based company to place a weather radar device in the city.

The device will help provide more accurate weather radar in gaps left by the National Weather Service.

A lease agreement still needs to be signed along with some other details, but the council unanimously approved moving forward with the project.

Mayor Regena Hinton said she is excited about the possibility of the radar device being located in Jamestown.
