There were eight new COVID-19 cases in Russell County this week, an increase of two from last week’s total of six, according to the Kentucky Department for Public Health.
Looking at other counties in the Lake Cumberland District, Wayne and Pulaski County each had 10 cases, Clinton County had six cases, Taylor County and Green County each had eight cases, McCreary County reported seven cases, Adair County reported four cases, and Cumberland County had two cases. Casey County did not report any new cases this week.
Russell County and the rest of the 10-county Lake Cumberland District are again “green” this week with virus spread as the region continues to have the lowest level of COVID-19 spread.
Kentucky’s current incidence rate, per 100,000 population, is 3.93 percent. Statewide, there were 2,264 new cases and 51 newly reported deaths this week.
