Wayne County business robbed at gunpoint

A Wayne County business was robbed at gunpoint over the weekend.

The robbery reportedly occurred just after midnight Sunday.

According to law enforcement, a lone female employee in the store was closing when a man entered wearing a mask and carrying a handgun. The suspect reportedly forced the woman to the back of the store to shut off electricity to the building and then forced her to the front of the store where the suspect forced her to withdraw cash from the register.

The employee was not hurt in the incident, and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reportedly has a suspect.

Deputy Nick Bertram is the investigating officer.
